Terms of Service

By inviting kesarAI (the “Bot”) to a Discord server, or by interacting with any of its slash commands, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, remove the Bot from your server and stop using it.

These Terms apply to server administrators and to end users who interact with the Bot. Administrators are responsible for making their members aware of these Terms where relevant.

The Bot is available only through Discord, which requires users to be at least 13 years old, or the higher minimum age specified in your jurisdiction. By using the Bot you confirm that you meet that minimum. If you are below it, you may not use the Bot.

kesarAI is a Discord bot built on discord.py 2.3+ that provides moderation tooling, audit logging, role and permission management, transcript generation, and AI-assisted features. AI features are powered by Google Vertex AI(Google’s enterprise Gemini surface) and surfaced through slash commands such as /ask, /ai think, /ai summarise, /ai fallacy, and /ai modadvice.

The Service is provided on an “as-is” basis. We may add, modify, or retire features at any time, including changes to the command surface, the AI model, rate limits, or hosting infrastructure.

You agree not to use the Bot to harass, abuse, defraud, or harm any individual or group; to circumvent Discord’s own Terms of Service or Community Guidelines; or to generate, request, or distribute content that is unlawful in your jurisdiction.

You are responsible for the prompts you submit to AI commands and for any use you make of the responses. Repeated attempts to elicit prohibited content, or sustained abuse of shared rate limits, may result in loss of access for your user or server.

Prohibited uses include

• Retaliatory moderation against members in violation of your own server’s rules.
• Attempting to access bot configuration, audit logs, or permission state for servers you do not administer.
• Spamming AI commands to deplete shared rate-limit budgets or inflate API costs.
• Reverse-engineering or attempting to circumvent the Bot’s safety controls.

When you invite the Bot, Discord grants it the permissions you select at install time. The Bot only requests what it needs to operate — for example, reading message history to power /ai summarise, managing roles for permanent-role enforcement, and writing to configured logging channels.

You may revoke any granted permission via Discord’s native role and channel settings. Doing so may disable the affected feature, but it will never escalate the Bot’s access elsewhere. Your server’s configuration is stored in config.db, keyed by your guild ID, and is isolated from every other server.

The Bot’s AI-assisted features produce suggestions, not instructions. Output from commands like /ai modadvice, /ai think, and /ai fallacy may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date.

AI output is not legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice and must not be relied on as such. Human moderators and administrators retain full responsibility for any action taken in their servers.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, kesarAI and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Bot. This includes loss of data, loss of community members, loss of revenue, and moderation decisions taken on the basis of AI-generated recommendations.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the operator of kesarAI from any third-party claim, demand, or expense arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Bot, or content you generate or distribute through it. This obligation is limited to claims directly caused by your acts or omissions.

You may stop using the Bot at any time by removing it from your server. We may suspend or terminate access for any server, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe these Terms have been violated, where continued operation poses a risk to the Service or its users, or where required by law.

On termination, configuration associated with your guild may be retained for a short grace period to support reinstatement, after which it becomes eligible for deletion under the Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the substantive laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with the Bot or these Terms, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules that grant you a different forum.

Before commencing legal proceedings, the parties agree to attempt a good-faith resolution through the kesarAI support server.

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the “Last updated” date at the top of this page changes, and material revisions are announced through the support server. Continued use of the Bot after a revision takes effect is acceptance of the revised Terms.

If any provision of these Terms is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and the operator regarding the Bot, and supersede any prior agreements on the same subject.
